Project SWAP (which stands for Shopping With A Purpose) is a fundraising initiative that supports local non-profit organizations in Toronto, specifically focusing on youth empowerment and community building. As young adults, it is our goal to lend a helping hand to others so that they too will have the same opportunities as us.
Started in 2008, Project SWAP is a charity garage sale generating funds for homeless children, youths and adults in Toronto. Last year, we raised just over $1100 for the Convenant House, with a special donation to Myanmar disaster.
Incorporating music and fashion together, SWAP encourages community building through the sharing of possessions. The only rule we have is that your donation items are hole-free, in good wearing condition and something that is still (somewhat) fashionable! There’s nothing worse than piles of jackets with shoulder pads – you get the point!
Each year, the event features local musicians and our finale fashion show. This year will be no exception with a bit of a twist, but you’ll just have to come and find out for yourself!
So come for the music, stay for the food, and swap for our community
